Arrivals of all Paddy are slowing down. Only Old crop Raw Basmati is now available other than the new crop rice. No large trade reported. Due to absence of Overseas Buyers prices have shown a downward trend but the exporters are still trying to gather whatever they can purchase as the paddy is being sold at the rock bottom prices for this season. Buyers from Saudi are expected to start their purchases in Jan 2005.
As the prices seem to have reached their lowest levels and arrivals have slowed down significantly, now is the correct time to buy. Those who do not buy now will have to buy from traders, who will charge their margins.
