Miscellaneous Rice News

 

As per reliable information India's rice exports from January to November 2004 are estimated at 2.6 million tons.

Overseas purchases this year have been very low. Saudi Arabia, India's biggest customer, has contracted barely a quarter of its usual numbers till now. 

More than 85% of the total crop has already been sold in the local mandis, with arrivals now dropping to 4,000 bags a day in most areas 

A Conference on global foodgrains and pulses trade "Grain Asia 2005" will be held in New Delhi during January 15 -16, 2005 

The meet is designed to bring together the processing industry and distributive trade involved in foodgrains wheat, rice, coarse cereals and pulses 

There would be an associated exhibition, buyer-seller meet and award function.

Price of  New Crop Basmati Paddy is $ 330 PMT inclusive of expenses.

Old Crop Raw Basmati Rice prices continue to rule at $ 740 PMT ex factory in gunny bags.

Export Prices CNF Gulf Countries. In USD PMT, all prices tentative in 45/50 kg new jute bags (Sortexed)

Trade Reporting 

Arrivals of all Paddy are slowing down. Only Old crop Raw Basmati is now available other than the new crop rice.

No large trade reported. 

Due to absence of Overseas Buyers prices have shown a downward trend but the exporters are still trying to gather whatever they can purchase as the paddy is being sold at the rock bottom prices for this season. 

Buyers from Saudi are expected to start their purchases in Jan 2005.

Recomendations 

As the prices seem to have reached their lowest levels and arrivals have slowed down significantly, now is the correct time to buy.

Those who do not buy now will have to buy from traders, who will charge their margins.

Click with the left button of the Mouse on the ZIP file you downloaded to extract the executable eBook.

Reading the eBook. Go to the folder where you had extracted the executable file. Click with the left button of the Mouse on the name of the file. Click with the left button of the Mouse on the "Read Book" button. Happy reading.

Downloading one eBook will take about 2 to 5 minutes on a 30 Kbps Internet connection.
