Par-boiled rice exports to Africa on the rise Basmati prices may rise further
Prices (All prices in USD). Price of New Crop Basmati Paddy is $ 330 PMT inclusive of expenses. Old Crop Raw Basmati Rice prices continue to rule at $ 740 PMT ex factory in gunny bags. Export Prices CNF Gulf Countries. In USD PMT, all prices tentative in 45/50 kg new jute bags (Sortexed) Old Crop
New Crop
No large trade reported. New Crop Raw Pusa Rice still being sold in the market in large quantities at price ranging from $ 480/- to $515/-. Only Old crop Basmati is now available. New crop rice is also now available. Prices now are more or less as per expectations. Arrivals of all Paddy is now at the peak. Pusa Basmati paddy arrivals are slowing down. Basmati Paddy is also expected upto end of this month in good quantities. Due to absence of overseas buyers, prices are showing a slight downward trend but the exporters are still in full strength in the market, with a view that these are rock bottom prices for this season.
Now is the correct time to buy as the prices now seem to have reached the lowest level. Arrivals will gradually slow down, where after Exporters will have to buy from traders, who will charge their margins.
